PavingA new patio or driveway can give a new look to your home or garden. Whether you choose limestone or sandstone paving ensuring there is adequate drainage during the installation stage is key to ensuring that your patio will last the test of time.

There are a number of different methods that can be used to install paving. One of the main factors in deciding which method to use is how much traffic there will be on the driveway. This will determine whether you will use the dry-laid or wet-mortar method. Sloping your paving is also key to ensure that surface water does not begin to sit on parts of your paving.

Irregular shaped paving slabs can be installed with a larger gap than normal between them. This would be filled with sand, gravel or pebbles which will help drainage. If your patio or driveway is being laid an area that is susceptible to heavy rain or flooding it may be necessary to install underground drainage pipes.
